NORMAN -- Jadrea Seeley announced she is leaving the Oklahoma women's basketball team after two seasons and transferring to another school.
"I never have been that happy at OU," said Seeley, a 6-foot-2 guard. "It's not just basketball. It's the whole school. I've just been stressed out the last two years more than anything.
"I want to go somewhere that I'm happy."
Even though reports link Seeley to Oklahoma Baptist University, which is located near her home in Shawnee and near Bethel, where she was a high school superstar, she said she has not decided where she will transfer.
Seeley said several schools were holding scholarships for her, but she declined to name them.
"We would like to wish her the best," OU coach Sherri Coale said in a press release. "Jadrea is a very talented player who needs to feel comfortable with her surroundings and playing time."
Expected to be a major contributor for the Sooners next season, Seeley averaged 6.7 points and 1.9 rebounds this season. She shot 45.2 percent, but her playing time decreased from 17.5 minutes as a freshman to 14.6.
"I don't know if I ever really found my niche, my fit," Seeley said. "I'm not angry at all. If anything, it's more relief."
The toughest part of the decision, Seeley said, is leaving her teammates.
"I had gotten really attached to them," she said. "That was the only thing holding me there."
